Great book.

I went thru many sections on the net, trying to find a book in English to use in learning how to play the Erhu. I never found one, til this came along. I am glad I went to Amazon that day. This book not only teaches you how to play, it teaches you how to string your Erhu, how to bow, how to wax th bow, how the bow fits on your Erhu, how to hold the Erhu, and how to position your hands and arms for playing the Erhu. I was so delighted to finally find, not only a great book in English, but one that teaches everything. It even has songs to learn to play. It is fantastic. I would advise everyone wanting to play the Erhu to read this book.

Erhu is great for beginners

This is book is written by a erhu virtuoso , Patty Chan. Great starter book for learning the Chinese 2 stringed violin , the erhu. Highly readable and recommended for students studying non-Western music since it is the first book I've found written in English for non-Chinese. You can even email or facebook the author for private on-line lessons too!
