Great intro to website design coding, just don't follow Scholastic website links

Love this book. I'm a coding newb and this helps a lot in terms of delivery and pace. However, it provides links to Scholastic's website for further study and exercises, but the links have been killed and Scholastic no longer offers any form of expansion to the teachings of this book. Boo, Scholastic, boo.

This is a great, fun book... extensively tested by Coderdojo kids throughout Ireland and the rest of the world... it's a practical, hands-on, learning-by-doing book for creating web pages.

There are many ways to learn programming, but the most intuitive way is to just get started and get your hands dirty. After a few pages of this book, people who have never done a web page before will be thinking "god, that was easy!" After 30 pages, they'll be doing stylesheets, after 50 pages, they'll be doing Javascript... and the good news is, this book keeps it fun and introduces amazing things that keep early programmers motivated.

People who have never cooked food before are often amazed how liberating and empowering it is to make something that tastes great by mastering just a few steps and having the right ingredients. If you've never written a web page before, this book will speedily help you feel comfortable in getting the computer to do what you tell it to do. And it will feel great... Tens of thousands of Coderdojo kids from age 7 to 17 have learnt to code in just a few hours and days using techniques illustrated in this book.

The Cuckold Genre is Growing leaps and bounds

Alex has provided the reader with a quick hot tale of wanton lust.
A wife realizes she wants more and her husbands hard little dicky
can't deny it turns him on too. The cuckold and hotwife movement is
really amazing, and the erotica that defines it shows just how exciting
things can be. You can't go wrong reading this novella- enjoy!

An Opportunity Missed

A real disappointment. The novella's opening sequence (contained in the sample) is very strong: attractive 30-something housewife Linda and her loving but poorly endowed husband Dan meet Linda's sexually aggressive friend Cheryl and Cheryl's arrogant but well hung boyfriend Eddie for an evening of drinks and hot tubbing. Linda conceives an immediate though reluctant attraction for Eddie which only serves to underline Dan's inadequacies. After Cheryl and Eddie enact a red hot exhibitionist scene for Linda and Dan things seems poised to take off but then...they don't. Linda does eventually consummate her lust with Eddie while Dan observes, but the scenes aren't nearly as intense as they could have been. Eddie then disappears from the book entirely, while Cheryl only sticks around for some tedious exchanges of psychobabble. Linda inexplicably replaces virile Eddie with a couple of dull and unattractive lunkheads whose sole virtue is the size of their equipment. And Dan? Well, one of the hallmarks of this type of erotica is that you're supposed to feel the psychological torment of the husband as he experiences conflicting feelings of humiliation (at being proved inadequate by a more dominant male) and excitement (at seeing his wife brought to new heights of pleasure). But Dan is such an underdeveloped character (no pun intended) that it's impossible to feel anything for him. He's just a cipher, a place holder. Several times during the narrative, Linda thinks something like "I knew Dan was there but I didn't care." Neither will you.

With the exception of that opening hot tub scene, the intimate episodes are poorly described and uninvolving. It crossed my mind more than a few times that maybe one author wrote the first sequence, and someone else finished the rest of the book. Probably not true but that's how great the dichotomy is. In fairness, Hathaway shows some promising sparks of talent here, but this first effort is a real opportunity missed.

This is a brilliantly written book. Alex Hathaway shows great insight into human relationships and a real talent for character development. The sex scenes are sizzling, and they're so much more erotic because they involve people we've got to know.

disapointing

I did like that this book had behind the scenes info and bloopers and trivia. I wish the OFFICIAL guide had all that

But the author has gotten many facts about the episodes wrong, as if he never watched them but just read a summary. He also is quite negative about the show as if he doesn't even like it.

A Great book for any Voyager fan!

Delta Quadrant:The unofficial guide to Voayger is a great book for any fan of the show!From the plot summary to "Ye canna change the Law O' Physics" I also really loved the bloopers. It makes me want watch the shows again to see if I can find them myself.

Recommended, but not fabulous

I did enjoy this because I love the show, and it's a pretty good TV supplement not that UPN's cut Voyager to once a week. I had to skip over a lot of it, though - the Deja-Vous sections and ESPECIALLY the highly technical sections were both really dull. Devoted trekkies, (think Galaxy Quest) probably really appreciate those parts, but for someone who enjoys the show, not the science, those sections are cryptic and much too long. I loved the "Bloopers" section and the "Voyager Database", and I really liked the way that the author described every show individually. I agreed with most of the comments and reccomendations - they seemed pretty intelligent, and I liked the plot summaries. I wish the book had covered more episodes, though-it's annoying that it fails to describe the more recent ones. Overall, I would recommend it to any Voyager fan, but it is definately a mixed bag.
