Grade 1-3--The title is one of the four sto ries in this book that continues the ad ventures of second-grade Horrible Har ry, previously seen in Horrible Harry in Room 2B (1988), and Horrible Harry and the Green Slime (1989, both Vi king). Short chapter books for readers graduating from beginning readers are welcome, and this series has been an enjoyable addition. But Class 2B, scene of Harry's adventures, may be a bit confusing to newcomers at first, as Kline barely introduces her narrator and characters. Previous fans, how ever, will enjoy another meeting with Harry and pals in these lighthearted outings, although Harry's horribleness is not very convincing. The title story concerns the arrival of ants to the class room and Harry's temporary loss of his position as "Ant Monitor" because he is bitten while locating a couple of es caping ants. The last story lacks any horridness or even much point, unless who you stand next to in a class picture really counts. Well-placed line draw ings extend the humor with lively rendi tions of this familiar cast of charac ters.

About the Author
Suzy Kline, the author of nineteen previous Horrible Harry books and four books about Song Lee, lives in Willington Connecticut with her husband, Rufus. Suzy and Rufus have been married for thirty-eight years. They met in the state where they both grew up: California. Suzy grew up in Berkeley and Rufus in Sacramento. Suzy graduated from the University of California at Berkeley with a degree in European history. She met Rufus at the Davis campus while attending that campus for a year. They got married and lived in different places, including Canada, before settling into Connecticut, the state they now call home.
Suzy taught in 5th and 6th grades at Shannon Elementary School in Richmond, California for 3 years, and 2nd and 3rd grades at Southwest Elementary School in Torrington, Connecticut for 24 years before retiring this past June. She now enjoys writing full-time and visiting schools and libraries. The couple share their home with two cats, Teeter and Hoag. They have two daughters, Jennifer and Emily, and four grandchildren: Jake, Kenna, Gabby and Saylor. A fifth grandchild is due in September, 2006. Suzy's mother just turned 96. She dedicated her most recent book, Horrible Harry Takes the Cake to her.
Suzy and Rufus enjoy attending UConn football and basketball games, and Suzy uses the UConn library as a reference for her writing facts.

Ants and people meet in this funny book

a great book

This book is about when Harry went to go on a Field Trip. And Harry fall in the pound .He got out of the pound. And he was so wet. He went home to tell his mother. What would happen next?
Look at the book to find out what happens next.
I liked the book because my favorite port of the book is when Harry Fell in the pound .It was funky. This happed to me. Once I fell in the pound. Was soaking and wet. Just like Harry? I was sad and he was mad.
I recommend this book to the 5th graders they will be able to read it and they will be able to solve the problem. The book is a mystery book, and the book is hard to solve. I like mystery

I give this book three stars because you enjoy it when you read it but it is not a book that deserves five stars.I recomend this book to somebody because sometimes you get board reading the same book there are four stories in this book and they are interesting because they have many details about the characters and when things happen that have to do something with them you wont think it is wierd.
