Review
"If I had to, I could go on and explain every character in detail. For me, that is a huge achievement because it doesn't happen in a lot of books I've read. (...) The plot and story pulled me in with every word and painted a clear picture of every scene. I can't say I finished it in a single sitting but only because I didn't want it to end. I tried to prolong the action as long as I could but my curiosity couldn't be denied. Dragon Warrior was descriptive and evoked some serious emotions out of me. I was right there with every emotion that the characters experienced. I hated to see this one end and I'm sure any reader with a love for dragons would love this series, too."   Long and Short Reviews - Five Stars

Good Reading
By LAS Reviewer
“Her fiery red curls would be a warning flag to any potential game.”

Harith, while following a couple of trolkin, meets his mate and is introduced to his mate’s barbaric clan. It’s simple but not so simple.

The whole story was weaved with extreme care and attention because it portrayed Harith as the star. It was written so that this reader, who had never read the first book, didn’t at any point think that this might be a series. It didn’t feel like I was missing out on information that was important or necessary but missing because it had been revealed in a previous book.

The characters had their own personalities and was easily defined and showed in every facet of the individuals without straying too far off topic. If I had to, I could go on and explain every character in detail. For me, that is a huge achievement because it doesn’t happen in a lot of books I’ve read.

Harith is a powerful dragon who adores his siblings and hopes to make his father proud. But he is arranged to wed a princess who is a long way away from being anything near what he wants in a mate.

Nyssa is a dragon with a secret. Hiding in a human village was out of necessity. But after she meets Harith she is glad that she had to. Nyssa is a fiery haired dragon with immense strength, passion and will to protect that rivals any warrior.

The plot and story pulled me in with every word and painted a clear picture of every scene. I can’t say I finished it in a single sitting but only because it was because I didn’t want it to end. I tried to prolong the action as long as I could but my curiosity couldn’t be denied.

Dragon Warrior was descriptive and evoked some serious emotions out of me. I was right there with every emotion that the characters experienced.

I hated to see this one end and I’m sure any reader with a love for dragons would love this series, too.

Dragons and magic make for an excellent romantic fantasy read
By Jean Smith
Ok this author gets better with the second in the Dragon Clan series. Dragon Warrior captured my interests quicker and held them through until the very end. The pacing was steady throughout whether it was in times of action or the relationship building. That’s not to say that you don’t feel the excitement of battle and that the pace doesn’t quicken in such times as it should but rather that it doesn’t slow and have you losing interest when the action isn’t quick and fierce. To top that off she definitely turned up the heat in this one.

Dragon Warrior is a tale of two clans actually. One where a despot ruler claims any female he wants and kills off any perceived competition. Aurek is aided in his evil machinations by a dragon sorceress. At the beginning of the story Nyssa watches as her brother is slain while trying to protect her. She is moments away from being brutally claimed by Aurek when suddenly they are literally frozen and suspended in time. Years later she is lucky that both her mother and her are some of the first that awaken and in the chaos that ensues they are able to sneak away. Life becomes one of impersonating humans in order to remain hidden and survive. Nyssa is self-sufficient and independent if not rather lonely. Her mother has magically blocked their telepathic abilities and forbidden their change to drake form. While she has the occasional hook up with the local blacksmith he is definitely not mate worthy.

On the other hand the young dragon warrior she happens upon while out hunting is more than worthy. Harith is grievously injured in a fight with three trollkins, their ancient enemies. Nyssa is just able to save him by changing forms and dispatching his last opponent. Dragging him home she sets about healing him with the reluctant help of her mother. Finding out the dragon of her dreams is already promised to a princess of the human realm of Rhelaun doesn’t exactly make her happy.

Harith is the heir to his clan and as such he has been promised to Ayelet, the princess of Rhelaun. Neither of them are particularly happy with the betrothal or each other. Duty and loyalty to his father and clan drive him. But lately he questions what life will be like stuck in the loveless relationship he is destined for. Harith wants the love and happiness that his father shares with his human mate. When he awakens from his injuries to find himself in the company of Nyssa and her mother he spends his time while healing falling rapidly in love. Unable to call out to his father telepathically courtesy of Nyssa’s mother, he is isolated with the two women he believes to be human.

As in most good stories old enemies have a habit of turning up like bad pennies. Things get heated. Love and life is on the line. Watching Harith come to terms with duty, loyalty and love was truly enjoyable. Watching Nyssa regain the freedom to be herself and find love along the way was gratifying. I really enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone that loves dragons, magic and a great love story.

It really helps that you read book one, Dragon Wife, before reading this.

Harith is betrothed to Princess Ayelet, but they have both been putting their wedding off. On a trip back from visiting, Harith comes across Trollkin, and attacks, but is gravely injured. Nyssa comes across the attack, and against her mother's wishes, shifts into dragon form to help Harith. But Nyssa and her mother have long been in hiding, and Harith's presence, and the mind talk he does with Nyssa puts them all in danger.

I loved cathing up with these dragons, and their clan. Nyssa is on the run from a rival clan to Harith's and her mother believes all dragons treat their females as badly as thier clan. But we know that Harith's clan is all about choice, and Nyssa and Noss need to see that. Harith knows Nyssa is his mate, but he holds back still, for technically he is still betrothed. I liked that, he held back for as long as he could but Nyssa asked, and he could not refuse her.

We get some Huroth and Orwenna, and their two children. We get a little of why Ayelet keeps putting the wedding off. We DONT get the why, though. WHY were the dragons encased in ice before, who did it, and I soooooooooooooooo wanna know! I need to know! I do hope that comes in the next book, I really do! When that is likely to be, I've no idea, but by hook or by crook I will read the book, watch me, see if I don't!

Dragon Warrior is about half the length of Dragon Wife, but by no means any less of a read.

4.5 stars, which is half a notch up from Dragon Wife.
